On the class wiki site, post your favorite new Web 2.0 tool that has not been covered in detail in this class that you have discovered in this course or elsewhere. List the URL, what the tool is, and why you find it useful using the wiki template page. No duplication allowed-each page must be an original new tool. This can be done after reviewing the Unit 9 material, which covers more Web 2.0 resources.
LucidChart is a free google app within the Google Apps for Education suite. Its uses are unlimited with integration into different levels of school. It allows for workflow diagramming, planning out thoughts or ideas for research papers, and iOs and Android mockups. It does not have advertising throughout the app, which makes it easier to sort through the content and performance of the app. Since it is part of the Google suite, it does allow multiple students to work in the document at the same time and even share it with the teacher or anyone who has the link for that matter.
Despite its easy-to-use interface, it does not have a specific section geared towards teachers or students, but it is specifically found in the Google Apps for Education suite. Not only is it appropriate for school use, I encourage it! I have found that sometimes students need a visual in planning out their work before executing it. Also, in courses where students create projects about cell phones and tablets, this program allows them to create mockups of what something would potentially look like inside the project.
While I believe this program is useful for students of all ages (because it is so visual), I think it is best used by middle and high school students because of the work flow processes.

Review of Site
I recommend watching the quick tutorial guides that pop up when you first create an account, as they are extremely helpful in using the hotspot and presentation modes. The students pick up how to use the program very quickly because it is similar in nature to other Google products. Sometimes as teachers, we feel as if we need to know everything about a piece of software before we introduce it to students. From personal experience, I have demo'd small portions of the program and let the students run with it. Their creativity can really shine through and impress us all! I hope you consider using this program... it's fantastic!
